The event is\u00a0free, and its main goal is\u00a0to expose kids to the richness and variety of the cultural traditions in our diverse community.\u00a0These gatherings will tickle children\u2019s curiosity while using the power of stories to bring people together, promoting literacy, and nurturing the next generation of engaged world citizens. We want to\u00a0encourage kids to read and develop a passion for books and literature. Culminating each day, we will serve a special picnic with blankets on the lawn and baskets full of books, in both Spanish and English.\u00a0<strong>Picnic de Libros<\/strong>\u00a0is produced by the\u00a0<strong>Centro Koubek<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Fundacion Cuatrogatos<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Next Picnic will have the following activities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A very special presentation of Haitian music performed by Inez Barlatier.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Creative Stage Productions returns with\u00a0their amusing characters.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Bilingual stories with storytellers Marilyn Romero and Geraldine Townson.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>An entertaining Spanish-language mini children\u2019s theatre\u00a0play performed by Teatro Doble.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>P\u00edntame,\u00a0an interactive\u00a0game with colors and brushes, by\u00a0Venezuelan performers\u00a0Lismar Marcano and Hanny Rivera\u00a0from\u00a0Books and Play.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Saturday April 8\u00a0 from 2 to 5 PM<br \/>\nKoubek Center Garden (2705 SW 3rd\u00a0St. Miami, Fl, 33135)<br \/>\nPhone: 305-237-7750\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Free Entrance and Parking<\/strong><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Picnic de Libros\u00a0is a bilingual, family day program featuring storytelling, theatre, music, arts and crafts, dance, and picnic baskets full of books, for families to enjoy together.
