Como parte del programa\, los participantes tienen acceso a las aulas y al estudio de ensayo del Koubek Center para desarrollar nuevos proyectos\, investigar\, crear y colaborar. At a time when education for women was rare\, she pursued knowledge with determination\, becoming one of the most influential literary figures of her era. \nThis engaging play blends Sor Juana’s writings with imagined moments from her daily life\, exploring her intellectual journey\, her decision to enter the convent\, and the challenges she faced. Cosmic Curiosity captures an era when poets\, scientists\, and philosophers were shaping the world through discovery and debate. \nWritten and directed by Carmen Peláez\, a Miami-based award-winning playwright\, actress\, and director (Fake\, The Cuban Vote\, Rum & Coke). She is a 2023 MacDowell Fellow\, Ellie Award recipient\, and HBO NYLFF Short Film Competition winner. As a dedicated teaching artist\, she helps young people develop their own plays. \nA small ensemble of professional actors will bring Cosmic Curiosity to the stage\, making Sor Juana’s story engaging and accessible.
