This upcoming May 30th and 31st\, we host a two-night event that bridges the gap between jazz legends and the exciting new generation of talent. \nThe Lineup \nSaturday\, May 30th | 8:00 PM We kick off with The Harden Project\, featuring the soulful\, life-influenced compositions of Ja’Nia and John Harden II. Joining them is Han Beyli\, an eclectic bassist whose music transcends boundaries\, blending Eastern European and Middle Eastern influences with modern R&B. \nSunday\, May 31st | 6:00 PM The second evening features Miami’s own Victoria Blue\, whose diverse Latin upbringing and X Factor USA experience have made her an international standout. The night culminates with Eric Chacón\, a Latin Grammy-winning flutist and pedagogue whose virtuosity has graced stages worldwide. \nFree Valet Parking. \nWe look forward to seeing you there for a weekend of soul-stirring performances.

SUMMARY:Two Islands | Ibero-American Film Festival Miami
DESCRIPTION:Two Islands is an international cultural exchange residency featuring Afro-Cuban artists from Miami and Aboriginal artists from Australia who will explore how these two different cultural traditions\, in their ceremonies and rituals\, speak to their ancestors through a musical and dance performance.\nFeaturing Miami-based Afro-Cuban musician and educator Michael Gil\, and NT Dance Company Artistic Director and Choreographer Gary Lang from Larrakia nation\, elder Banula Marika from Yolngu and singer songwriter David Spry from Marranunggu Marrathiyel. \nAfro-Cuban musician and educator Michael Gil will be working with the First Nation artists along with Afro-Cuban dancer and choreographer Marisol Blanco from Sikan Afro-Cuban Dance Project and musicians Manuel Clua\, René Pedroso\, and Caridad Paisán\, and dancer Suramy Suarez.\nThis collaboration will fuse rhythms and instruments to create new sounds\, stories\, and choreography rarely explored. \n\nTwo Islands es una residencia internacional de intercambio cultural que reúne a artistas afrocubanos de Miami y a artistas aborígenes de Australia\, quienes explorarán cómo estas dos tradiciones culturales distintas\, a través de sus ceremonias y rituales\, se comunican con sus ancestros mediante una presentación de música y danza. \nCon la participación del músico y educador afrocubano radicado en Miami Michael Gil\, y del Director Artístico y coreógrafo de NT Dance Company Gary Lang\, de la nación Larrakia; la anciana Banula Marika\, del pueblo Yolngu; y el cantautor David Spry\, del pueblo Marranunggu Marrathiyel. \nEl músico y educador afrocubano Michael Gil trabajará junto a los artistas de las Primeras Naciones\, en colaboración con la bailarina y coreógrafa afrocubana Marisol Blanco\, del Sikan Afro-Cuban Dance Project\, así como con los músicos Manuel Clua\, René Pedroso y Caridad Paisán\, y la bailarina Suramy Suárez. \nEsta colaboración fusionará ritmos e instrumentos para crear nuevos sonidos\, historias y coreografías poco exploradas.
