DESCRIPTION:Dancer and Master Instructor Marisol Blanco offers a weekly Afro-Cuban dance class that spans the history\, songs\, steps\, beats\, passion\, mysticism\, and intensity of Cuban folklore and culture. The course includes traditional ballroom dances such as the danzón\, mambo\, cha cha chá\, pilón\, mozambique\, son and the casino. Marisol will also teach dances of the Afro-Cuban heritage such as rumba (in its various expressions: yambú\, guaguancó and columbia); and of various ethnicities and African traditions including Yoruba (from the Orichas)\, Aará (Fodunes)\, Bantú (Mpungos) and also Haitian (Loaces). \nTuesdays Beginners. \nThursdays Intermediate. \nLa bailarina y profesora de baile Marisol Blanco ofrece sus clases semanales de danza afrocubana que abarcan la historia\, las canciones\, los pasos\, y la intensidad y la mística de la cultura y el folklore cubano. DESCRIPTION:On February 22\, the Koubek Center will host the Dance Meets Fashion showcase\, the final presentation of a project created to support and empower choreographers and dancers by providing them with the necessary resources to present their work and promote their projects.
