Libre por divertido\, y siempre nuevo. \nSe estrenó en el Teatro Timbre 4\,  y fue parte del Festival Argentino de Artes Escenicas y del Festival Late \nOsqui Guzman es egresado del Conservatorio Nacional de Arte Dramático. Sus trabajos más destacados en teatro son:“El Bululú. Antología endiablada”\, “Los Bonobos” y “Toc Toc” de Laurent Baffie\, “La Tempestad” y “Sueño de una Noche de Verano” de W. Shakespeare\, “Salomé de chacra” y “El Niño Argentino” de Mauricio Kartun\, “El Arlequino” y “El Pelele” de La Banda de La Risa\, entre otras. En teatro infantil hizo “Derechos Torcidos” y “Locos Recuerdos” de Hugo Midon\, “Mi Bello Dragon” de Enrique Pinti y “Robin Hood” de Hector Presa; y dirigió durante cuatro años a “Topa en Junior Express” . Dirigió y actuó en la obra “Enobarbo” en el Teatro Nacional Cervantes y como director y dramaturgo realizó “El Centésimo Mono”\, “A La Obra!” y “La Amiga Invisible”. Considerado un referente del teatro de improvisación\, su último espectáculo fue ¨Fugaz ¨. En televisión trabajó en “Maradona. Sueño Bendito”\, “Apache”\, “El Marginal 3”\, “Emocionario” “Hermanos y Detectives”\, “Derechos Torcidos”\, “Media Falta”\, “Mar de Fondo”\, “Mi amor\, Mi amor”\, “La Liga”\, “Horizontes matemática”\, “De cuento en cuento” y “Peor es Nada”. En cine protagonizó “El Torcan” y “QTH” y participó en “Tiempo de Valientes”\, “Pájaros Volando”\, “El Karma de Carmen”\, “Topos” y “La Puta y la Ballena”. Obtuvo los premios Trinidad Guevara\, Florencio Sánchez\, Estrella de Mar\, Teatro del Mundo\, Ace\, Clarín\, Vilches y Konex. En el 2009 fue declarado Personalidad destacada de la Cultura de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires. \nLeticia González de Lellis se formó en el Conservatorio Nacional de Arte Dramático. También estudió con Fernando Piernas y Gabriel Chame. En el exterior se formó con el Teatro de los Andes\, el Theatre Organic y con Ariane Mnouckine. Especialista en el teatro de improvisación donde se destaca como actriz y docente. Junto a Osqui Guzman formó parte del grupo QR! en los espectáculos: “Somos Nosotros” \, “Jugadores” y “Sorpresa”. Dirigió “Mono”\, unipersonal de impro de Osqui Guzman y “No sé qué decir” junto a Carlos Gianni. Actualmente forma parte de “Fugaz” y del espectáculo infantil “Noticiero Puro Cuento”. Co autora de “El Bululú. Antología endiablada” por la que ganó el premio Teatro del Mundo. Actuó en “Enobarbo” en el Teatro Nacional Cervantes\, “Toc Toc” en gira por Argentina\, “Identicos” para Teatro x la Identidad\, “La Amiga Invisible” en Teatro Bombon\, “Verde Esperanza y no pierde” en el Teatro Beckett\, “Clowns no Perecederos” en el Rojas. DESCRIPTION: Germán López is a master of the timple\, the small five-stringed guitar native to the Canary Islands\, a cousin in a family of instruments that includes the Venezuelan cuatro\, the cavaquinho\, the ukulele\, and the charango. What has distinguished López’s career since its beginnings has been his approach\, aiming at putting the timple on the global stage and exploring its possibilities in fusions beyond traditional music. \nLópez\, accompanied by his quintet and special guests\, including Cuban singer Aymeé Nuviola\, fresh from her performance at the Latin GRAMMYs\, and legendary percussionist Sammy Figueroa\, will perform at Miami Dade College’s Koubek Center on Friday\, November 18. This evening\, López will present his new album\, Alma (Virgin Music)\, his fifth under his own name but the first on an international label. This release on a global platform marks a new stage in López’s career and in his idea of continuing to expand the projection of the instrument.

DESCRIPTION:Body percussion converts our body into a moving instrument. It is a discipline that integrates movement with the great variety of sounds we can produce with our body. During class we will use some theory-based notions and exercises of rhythms that will help to improve our coordination and our capacity to listen to ourselves and the group. Gradually\, you will obtain choreography in which you will move through the rhythm and the music of your own body. Body Percussion is a discipline recommended for adults and kids\, for dancers\, actors\, musicians\, or just people that like rhythm. DESCRIPTION:Kaylan Arnold\, Bri La Pelúa and Leau\, bring their diverse music\, roots\, and personal stories to the stage for the Women of the Caribbean concert. \nSinger\, songwriter\, producer\, and instrumentalist Kaylan Arnold is a South Floridian of Belizean and Haitian roots. Her music is an original blend of her influences — reggae\, jazz and Hip-Hop — while her lyrics tackle weighty issues such as self-worth\, greed\, endangered love\, gratitude\, and corruption. Music is a vehicle for Kaylan for the changes she wants to see. Her first single debuted at #60 on the global reggae iTunes chart\, and every one of her releases since has charted in the iTunes top 100. Her debut album\,  Hydrate\, is out now on all streaming platforms. \nBorn in San Juan\, Puerto Rican\, Bri La Pelúa stands out with her voice\, energy\, and peculiar way of playing the Cajón. A self-taught musician\, composer\, and music producer\, Bri has sang in major stages such as El Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot and at Madison Square Garden\, New York\, where she performed before the historic fight between Amanda Serrano vs. Katie Taylor in April. The event\, featuring films from Europe\, Latin America and Africa. The mission of the Human Rights Film Festival of Madrid is “To disseminate cinema that makes us reflect\, awakens consciences\, denounces injustices and reflects the social and cultural diversity of humanity. In the collective search for a sustainable humanity.” \nThis year’s festival addresses issues of global reach such as migration\, gender violence\, or the control of food by multinational corporations but then\, it also explores more personal matters\, such as bullying\, or the fight for respect and the right to a good life by those some states and institutions judge as “different.” The selection features films ranging in length from one to 37 minutes\, include both documentaries and works of fiction. DESCRIPTION:The Koubek Center will be working with internationally renowned Flamenco Festival to bring an intimate and experimental Flamenco music series featuring the new generation of artists who are paving the way for a new way of understanding and seeing Flamenco. We present artists from Spain who can experiment in an intimate space and offer our audiences the same experience of an authentic tablao. \nFlamenco Entre Dos Orillas is an artistic residency featuring the unique collaboration between artists from Spain and local artists from Miami who will work together for a week to create a new work to be presented to the community as a public event. From Jerez de la Frontera\, Santiago Lara\, one the most respected names in the new generation of Spanish guitarists\, will be joined by Miami’s own la “Princesa del Son” Leslie Cartaya and one of Miami’s most sought out percussionist\, Venezuelan musician Adolfo Herrera to develop a new work that fuses the musical traditions of these three talented artists.

DESCRIPTION:LINK TO APPLICATION \nPROJECT INFO \nMural Painting Project is a collaborative project between an established local muralist and Visual Art Students from New World School of Arts (NWSA)\, Florida’s premier center of excellence in the visual and performing arts. The nature of public art is often site-specific\, created in response to the place and community in which it resides. To this end\, and through this process\, we explore the collaboration between established and emerging artists\, working side by side to highlight the positive impact public art can have on a community. Additionally\, we contribute to the process of visually injecting the spaces of the Koubek Center with artwork created by local artists. \nThe local Muralist will be selected by the Koubek Center Mural Committee\, a group of Koubek staff\, advisory board members\, and previous mural artists. The artist selected will be paid an honorarium to develop the concept of the Mural with input from NWSA students\, as well as to work alongside the students to create the Mural. The final artwork will be part of an ongoing rotation of works for one or two years\, with additional artworks selected for future installation. \nThe artwork submission portal will remain open throughout the Koubek Center Mural Painting Project timeline for applicants to submit. During the current Call for Submissions the Project Committee reserves the option to make no selections from the submission pool and to then reopen or reissue the Call for Submissions. \nOnce an artist has been selected\, the following process will be followed: \n\nSelected artist will enter into a commissioning agreement with Koubek Center for the development\, installation\, display\, and image/copyright use of artwork in college communications.\nVarious meetings will be held between selected artist and NWSA students to come up with the concept of the mural and a mutually agreed upon schedule of work.\nAn honorarium will be paid to the selected artist for the successful delivery of the artwork.\n\nSELECTION CRITERIA \nThe following criteria will be used by the Koubek Center Mural Painting Project committee when identifying artworks for display: \nArtistic Quality: Does the artist present a complete idea and design? Does it add to the aesthetic quality of the campus? Does the artwork meet public expectations for a professionally operated state institution? \nCreativity: Does the artwork display innovation\, excitement\, and interest? This includes style\, use of materials or format\, and subject matter. Does the artist statement support and expand on these aspects? \nTechnical Expertise: Is the artwork suitable for display at large scale? Does the art meet all application and submission requirements? \nBUDGET \nThe selected artist will be awarded an honorarium of $4000\, paid upon completion of the artwork created in conjunction with NWSA Visual Arts Students. \nPlease note that murals will rotate on a one to two-year basis. These timelines and rotation schedule are subject to change at the discretion of the Koubek Center. \nTIMELINE \nSubmission period: April 8\, 2022 to April 29\, 2022 \nDeadline to submit application: April 29\, 2022 \nArtist notification of selection: May 1\, 2022 \nMural creation: May 16-21\, 2022. \n**All dates are subject to change at the discretion of the Committee and/or weather conditions. \nLINK TO APPLICATION

DESCRIPTION:Dancer and Master Instructor Marisol Blanco offers a weekly Afro-Cuban dance class that spans the history\, songs\, steps\, beats\, passion\, mysticism\, and intensity of Cuban folklore and culture. The course includes traditional ballroom dances such as the danzón\, mambo\, cha cha chá\, pilón\, mozambique\, son and the casino. Marisol will also teach dances of the Afro-Cuban heritage such as rumba (in its various expressions: yambú\, guaguancó and columbia); and of various ethnicities and African traditions including Yoruba (from the Orichas)\, Aará (Fodunes)\, Bantú (Mpungos) and also Haitian (Loaces). \nLa bailarina y profesora de baile Marisol Blanco ofrece sus clases semanales de danza afrocubana que abarcan la historia\, las canciones\, los pasos\, y la intensidad y la mística de la cultura y el folklore cubano. DESCRIPTION:Picnic de Libros is a bilingual\, family day program featuring storytelling\, theatre\, music\, arts and crafts\, dance\, and picnic baskets full of books\, free to keep. The event is free and its main goal is to expose kids to the richness and variety of the cultural traditions in our diverse community. These gatherings will tickle children’s curiosity while using the power of stories to bring people together\, promoting literacy\, and nurturing the next generation of engaged world citizens. We want to encourage kids to read and develop a passion for books and literature. Culminating each day\, we will serve a special picnic with blankets on the lawn and baskets full of books\, in both Spanish and English\, to take home. Picnic de Libros is produced by the Koubek Center and Fundacion Cuatrogatos\, with the support of Miami Book Fair.
